NEW BRUNSWICK – A man locked up in a state prison on drug charges is suing New Brunswick police for false arrest in connection with an earlier arrest, according to mycentraljersey.com. Detrik Stallings, 22, claims police arrested him for robbery last year. Another man claimed responsibility for the crime, but Stallings says he spent five months in the Middlesex County jail before charges were dismissed, according to the report. The federal lawsuit against the city and three police officers seeks an unspecified amount of damages claiming violations of constitutional rights, false arrest, false detention and false imprisonment, the report states.
