SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Authorities are searching for an inmate who is believed to have walked away from a work crew in southeast Salem. The state Department of Corrections says William Beebe was part of a 10-man crew before staff noticed he was missing Tuesday morning. The 38-year-old inmate entered the Santiam Correctional Institution in Salem this summer after he was convicted of unauthorized use of a vehicle out of Marion County.
