| Jail director says his management style not based on his own son’s incarceration |

Interim Hall County Corrections Director Randy Houser said he’s impressed with the facilities and impressed with the staff at the Hall County Jail. “It is a fantastic facility,” Houser said on Wednesday. “It is definitely top notch, state of the art.” He toured the entire 300-bed Hall County Jail last Thursday on the day he started as interim director. The Hall County Board of Supervisors fired former Corrections Director Fred Ruiz and Assistant Corrections Director Jimmy Vann on Aug. 20 after a nearly four-hour closed-door meeting about management problems at the jail and a possible lawsuit. They hired Houser on Aug. 26. He had served as the Richardson County sheriff for one term and oversaw a 15-bed county jail there. Read More. |
