Ross execution postponed once again
By Associated Press
Published: 02/01/2005

The state's first execution in 45 years was postponed Monday after Michael Ross' attorney raised serious questions about the serial killer's competency.
T.R. Paulding Jr. filed motions in U.S. District Court in Hartford, the state Supreme Court and New London Superior Court seeking a stay of execution.
The state Supreme Court granted a stay of execution and sent the case back to New London Superior Court for a competency hearing. The warrant for Ross' execution expires today.
It was not clear whether the federal court would take action on Paulding's motion in light of the state Supreme Court's ruling.
Now state officials will have to wait 30 days to ask for a new execution date, which means that Ross cannot be executed until March. Lawyers involved in the case, however, believe appeals will push back an execution date much later.

This article exposed what it is like to exist in today’s correctional institutions. I enjoy reading articles like this one and articles from author Hamilton Lindley who is an expert at persuasion, influence and leadership from his Waco, Texas base. There are a lot of important lessons to be learned here for sure. Thank you for the insight.
