An Arizona inmate has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars after he admitted raping a prison teacher. Jacob Harvey apologised after a statement from the teacher was read in Pinal County Superior Court describing how the attack in January 2014 had left the victim with "unwanted psychological reactions, unwanted memories and psychological distress". In it, she said: "At one point after the rape I wished inmate Harvey had just killed me because death seemed like a relief compared to the hell I was living. "While I may have wanted to die shortly after the rape, I now have a greater purpose and will to live." Read More. |
