Four Oklahoma inmates were slain during a two-minute-long fight at the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing Saturday, furthering a string of homicides at Oklahoma prisons in the last calendar year.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections identified the inmates killed in Saturday’s brawl as Christopher Tignor, 29, Kyle Tiffee, 23, Michael Mayden, 26, and Anthony Fulwilder, 31. Also injured in the altercations were Jared Cruce, 34, Cordell Johnson, 24, and Jesse Hood, 31. A fourth inmate who was injured was not immediately identified.

It is still not clear what the caused the fight or how it was allowed to happen. No staff were injured during the fight. The Cimarron Correctional Facility is a private prison owned and operated by Corrections Corporation of America.

“The altercation lasted less than two minutes,” a press release from the DOC said. “Staff and correctional officers worked for approximately 38 minutes to secure the housing area. The facility remains on lockdown during the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Office of the Inspector General.”
