| Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office opens new intake and processing facility Wednesday |

NEW ORLEANS —The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office will open its new intake and processing center on Wednesday. The temporary intake and processing center on South Dupree Street will close for good after Wednesday. The new location on Perdido Street will house people who are arrested and taken in for processing into the jail system. The intake and processing center will allow members of the public to bring personal items or money to people they know who are in jail. The OPSO said opening the new intake center is the next step for the Sheriff's Office this week. It moved inmates from the old Orleans Parish Prison to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office Correctional Complex earlier this week. Read More. |
