ATLANTA (WXIA) -- The Georgia Department of Corrections is answering questions from 11Alive News about how it houses transgender inmates. It's been under scrutiny since Ashley Diamond, a transgender inmate, claimed she was raped and abused while being housed in a male prison. She was serving time for a burglary charge. In an exclusive interview with 11Alive News, Diamond also shed light on the transgender population numbers inside Georgia jails.
