| Lethal injection drugs continue to be held up in India |

Execution drugs from a distributor in India bound for Nebraska were shipped last month but returned to the sender before leaving the country, according to forms provided by the state Department of Correctional Services. A Sept. 14 email from Corrections Department Director Scott Frakes said the drugs were returned to Chris Harris of the Indian distributor HarrisPharma for further international review. A FedEx tracking form showed the sodium thiopental shipped on Aug. 24 from OC Logistic, which was handling the shipping, was returned by FedEx on Aug. 28. It apparently contained three packages of the drug. Emails sent back and forth from the Department of Correctional Services and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration indicate there was incorrect information on the forms. Read More. |
