| Escaped Childersburg inmate recaptured after police get tip from his relative |

CHILDERSBURG, AL (WBRC) - The Alabama Department of Corrections has recaptured the inmate who escaped from the Childersburg Work Release Center Saturday morning. Officers located Johnny Neil Caldwell in the 5000 block of Guy Drive Southeast in Bessemer after his family member gave a tip to police. He is being held in the Bessemer City Jail. Police say Caldwell was in possession of a stolen vehicle and he surrendered as officers approached him. He faces an additional charge for receiving stolen property. Read More. |
