| Corrections officials confirm gang violence |

Sept. 12 was a bloody day at Cimarron Correctional Facility, a private prison in Cushing. Three prisoners were killed and another prisoner was hospitalized and died later from injuries suffered during a riot in two units of the prison. It was the second outbreak of violence at that prison in a matter of months. Talk of gang warfare circulated in the aftermath and now the Oklahoma Department of Corrections has confirmed the deadly violence were sparked by fighting between two prison gangs, the Universal Aryan Brotherhood and the Irish Mob. Additional incidents the same day at other Oklahoma prisons were rumored to be part of the same conflict and prompted a statewide lockdown. Read More. |
