Additional charges are piling up against Nick Briner, the escaped prisoner who eluded Missouri and Iowa authorities for two days before he was captured. The Sullivan County, Mo., Sheriff's Department reports that Briner will be charged with a Class C felony for allegedly stealing a 1997 Chevrolet pick-up. The vehicle was taken from a residence in southern Sullivan county at around one p.m. on January 27 and found wrecked in northern Linn County later that day. Briner is also accused of stealing three other pick-up trucks from Adair and Linn counties. He was taken into custody without incident by officers after he crashed the stolen Linn county pickup into a bridge while being pursued in a high-speed chase by the Chariton and Linn County Sheriff's Departments. Briner's cash only bond in Sullivan county has been set at $25,000. |
