| Juneau prison housing unit damaged in 'serious disturbance' |

A “serious disturbance” occurred at Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau on Monday night, according to a Department of Corrections official. There were no injuries to staff or prisoners during the disturbance, which was confined to a single housing unit, said Sherrie Daigle, special assistant to the DOC commissioner. The housing unit was damaged, Daigle said. She did not immediately respond to requests for additional details. Lemon Creek houses primarily sentenced felons. Read More. |
