NZ woman intercepted allegedly trying to smuggle $60k worth of contraband into Canterbury prison

Christchurch Men's Prison director John Roper said the work of Corrections’ security, dog handling, and intelligence staff had intercepted the contraband on the prison perimeter.

The large find included synthetic cannabis, tobacco and cigarette papers, methamphetamine, cannabis, four cell phones, and SIM and SD cards which would have a prison value of over $60,000, Mr Roper said.

“There is a small percentage of prisoners who are behind contraband smuggling.
