| Charlottesville LAJC Settles Lawsuit with Department of Corrections |

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - Activists for Charlottesville's Legal Aid Justice Center celebrated justice Tuesday night. The organization is happy to finally settle a three year lawsuit with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Author John Grisham emceed the presentation on how five inmates incarcerated at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women sued the prison, saying they didn't get access to proper healthcare. "It takes a community really to get behind a case like this, to make it happen. None of this work was funded through any foundation grant, it was all funded by people in the community.
