Deputies are looking for a Liberty County inmate who escaped from jail Tuesday while he was on his assigned kitchen job, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Phillip Henry Freeman, 38, was last seen in the jail's kitchen at about 11 a.m., the release states. Staff searched for Freeman for about four hours and declared Freeman an escapee at about 3 p.m.

Freeman has been filed on for the offense, according to the release.

The sheriff's office is asking the public's help in locating Freeman, a white man, about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a brown jump suit similar to nurses "scrubs."
