| New Corrections secretary an innovator, Inslee says |

OLYMPIA — Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Dan Pacholke to serve as the new Department of Corrections secretary starting Oct. 17. Pacholke has been deputy secretary of the department since 2014 and has more than 32 years of experience with the agency. He began his career as a corrections officer and as deputy secretary, oversaw numerous divisions including community corrections, health care and re-entry services. Inslee said in a news release Thursday that Pacholke is widely recognized for innovative prison change and for the operation of safe, humane prisons. Read More. |
