| Feds come to Georgia to talk about cellphones in prisons |

JACKSON, Ga. (AP) — A federal official says he hopes to kick-start a national conversation on the problem of contraband cellphones in prisons after visiting a prison in Georgia. Commissioner Ajit Pai with the Federal Communications Commission visited the prison in Jackson Thursday and met with Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson and other officials. The visit comes on the heels of the indictment last month of a dozen people federal prosecutors say were involved in crime rings run by inmates using contraband cellphones in Georgia prisons.
