| 'Operation Boo' keeps sex offenders away on Halloween |

SACRAMENTO, Calif (KABC) -- A new program forces registered sex offenders to put signs on their doors around Halloween time to keep children away from their homes while trick or treating. The program, known as "Operation Boo," will require the offenders to have a sign that reads, "We do not participate in trick or treating." A local sex offender is suing the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation over the sign, saying it is unconstitutional to force all sex offenders to put the sign on their doors.
