A British prisoner who has been on the run from Exeter jail for more than a year has been recaptured.
John Blackstock, 45, had been admitted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for an undisclosed illness when he absconded on New Year's Eve 2003.
Blackstock was arrested on January 28 in Manchester, Devon and Cornwall Police said last Monday.
He had been serving a sentence for dishonesty offences and had been due to be released in September last year.
