MUSCATINE, Iowa — A state inspection of the Muscatine County Jail on Oct. 14 uncovered only minor deficiencies, according to a report filed by the state's chief jail inspector. The inspection by the Iowa Department of Corrections included an examination of staff training records, required documentation, prisoner files, jail policy and procedures as well as a tour of the facility. The two issues noted by Chief Jail Inspector Delbert Longley were mattresses showing signs of wear and shower curtains need to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced. Muscatine County Sheriff C.J.
