INTRO – Gardens at state prisons are helping to fill food bank shelves. George Olsen has more. A press release from the state Department of Public Safety says seven prisons donated approximately 16,250 pounds of fresh produce to local food banks. The donation was a project between Public Safety and the national non-profit Harvest Now which is also working with prison systems in several other states. Read More. |
