With multiple agencies now involved in the hunt for the fugitive wanted for shooting an Algood police officer on Saturday, the investigation has revealed the identity and description of a person of interest who may be aiding Floyd Ray Cook. "He absolutely was saved by his vest", Nelson said, adding that the officer suffered minor injuries from the close-range shot and was ready to return to work. After shooting the officer, Cook fled the scene and later engaged Kentucky State Police in a shootout just over the Tennessee and Kentucky line near Burkesville.
