| Forum series focuses on youth incarceration in Kansas |

A series of community forums centered around youth incarceration and held across the state were described as “informative and rewarding.” The events were facilitated by Kansans United for Youth Justice, an organization focused on juvenile justice reform. Forums were held in Overland Park, Ottawa, Kansas City, Wichita and Garden City. Benet Magnuson, a member of the group, said conversations brought out a lot of perspectives and were “informative and rewarding.” About 20 people showed up for the final forum, held Monday in Garden City. One woman there spoke about her son, who is incarcerated and needs substance abuse treatment. Read More. |
