A fight between women likely precipitated the stabbing death of a Fort Wayne man this past April. And on Wednesday, Allen County prosecutors formally charged someone currently serving time in the Illinois Department of Corrections in the killing. Morris L. Williams, 44, is now facing one count of aggravated battery in the death of 30-year-old Stacy Evans, whose carotid artery and jugular vein were pierced when he was stabbed in the neck outside Eden Green Apartments on April 9. Currently residing at the Illinois River Correctional Facility for reasons that are not entirely clear - though court records show he has not paid restitution on old criminal cases in Illinois - Morris' involvement in the stabbing came at the behest of his then-girlfriend, according to Allen Superior Court records. Fort Wayne police were called to Eden Green apartments where they found Evans already bleeding from the neck. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
