| State police investigating prison escape attempt |

Two inmates that attempted to escape from the Michigan Reformatory Tuesday night were found with tools to help them with their plan. Michigan State Police Detective Sgt. Chris Clute said he hasn't gotten all the information from the Michigan Department of Corrections yet, but he expects to have the information soon. The case will be turned over to the Ionia County Prosecutors' Office after an investigation is conducted. “Typically in these type of situations we try to see if there was someone on the outside or someone on the inside who was assisting them,” Clute said.
