| Judge orders killer to remain at Oklahoma mental health facility |

SHAWNEE, Okla.- After months of evaluations, a request to release a former East Central University student from a mental hospital has been rejected. A Pottawatomie County judge sentenced Jerrod Murray to a state-run mental health facility following the latest reports from two physicians stating that Murray is mentally ill and a danger to society. Murray killed Generro Sanchez in December 2012, after asking Sanchez for a ride to a Wal-Mart in exchange for gas money. Authorities say Murray shot Sanchez twice in the head while Sanchez was driving and later told investigators he wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone. Read More. |
