| Man faces charges in drone contraband smuggling scheme |

McALESTER — The tale of what led to a drone crashing inside the razor-wire fence at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary last month starts with two gang members — one in prison, one out — and a woman allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint and forced over a weekend to learn to fly the contraband-carrying device, court records show. Investigators were led to the suspects by a photo taken off the drone's camera of the woman flying the device. The failed smuggling attempt took place about 2 a.m. Oct. 26, from the backyard of a vacant house near the prison, where convicted robber Marquis Gilkey and the woman attempted to fly the drone toward the prison, an investigator said.
