It’s going to be a while between spa visits for Kent Lesporavsky. He will have to chew on his fingernails, as well as on this bit of bad news: The relative freedom that Lesporavsky enjoyed as a member of one of Cal Fire’s inmate hand crews is gone. Lesporavsky, who walked away from his crew Nov. 4 in Highland, was captured in Los Angeles on Tuesday, hiding in a hotel spa on Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown. Lesporavsky, 43, was behind bars Wednesday at the California Institution for Men in Chino – where nail files are not allowed – and faces escape charges, said Bill Sessa, a state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman. Lesporavsky was serving an eight-year, eight-month sentence for transporting and selling marijuana, evading a peace officer while driving recklessly, and resisting an officer, according to a state corrections news release.
