| Pierce takes over as PCC warden |

The Pontiac Correctional Center has appointed a new warden, according to a press release issued by the Illinois Department of Corrections. Guy Pierce assumed his new position on Thursday. A native of Hoopeston, Pierce was appointed to the position by IDOC Acting Director John Baldwin. He replaces outgoing Warden Randy Pfister, who took up the warden position at Stateville Correction Center in Joliet. Pierce joined the Department in 1986 as an officer at Danville Correctional Center, and has worked his way up in rank since. He served as a correctional sergeant and captain before being named as an assistant warden at Pinckneyville Correctional Center in 1999.
