Oshkosh police say a 21-year-old man who escaped Oct. 9 from the Winnebago Correctional Center has been captured. Leland C. Larock was arrested about 8:10 p.m. Monday in Shawano County, with the help of the Shawano County Sheriff's Office and Special Response Team, according to a police department news release. Larock is being taken to the Winnebago County Jail. Larock, along with Austin W. Reynolds, 21, escaped on foot at about 6:15 p.m. Oct. 9, from the minimum-security facility, 4300 Sherman Road, and authorities noticed they were missing at about 9:30 p.m., police said previously. Authorities then waited four days to notify the public, saying neither inmate posed danger to the public. A Gannett Wisconsin Media investigation uncovered Wisconsin Department of Corrections documents last week that showed Larock said before the escape that he would "get out and kill" his girlfriend.
