| County jail inmate dies |

URBANA — A 45-year-old Savoy woman was found dead in her cell at the Champaign County Jail on Tuesday evening. A release from Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh said officers found Toya Frazier a little after 5 p.m., and immediately started administering CPR. Both the Urbana Fire Department and emergency medical technicians responded. Ms. Frazier was pronounced dead at Carle Hospital in Urbana, according to Walsh’s release. Ms. Frazier had turned herself in at the jail Monday to begin serving a 3 1/2-year prison sentence for felony theft that had been imposed back in July at the time she pleaded guilty before Judge Heidi Ladd. She was expected to be transferred to a Department of Corrections prison later this week. When she pleaded guilty, two other criminal cases charging her with burglary and theft were dismissed.
