An inmate who escaped state custody while on work detail in Muskogee County was captured early Wednesday and returned to J. H. Lilley Correctional Center in Okfuskee County. Douglas Wilson, 51, was arrested by Osage County Sheriff’s Deputies at about 2 a.m. Wednesday at a casino near Ponca City, said Oklahoma Department of Corrections Public Information Officer Alex Gerszewski. There is some jurisdictional confusion about where the escape charge will be filed. If charged and convicted of escaping from a state penal institution, Wilson could face up to an additional seven years in prison. Wilson allegedly walked away from his work assignment at about 10:25 a.m. Tuesday.
