Aaron Hernandez struggled to stay out of trouble as a free man. And now, in prison, the former Patriots tight end and convicted murderer is having the same problem. Hernandez was found with a prison-made shank in his cell Thursday, reported Boston TV station WHDH, citing sources. Originally in general population, Hernandez has been moved to a segregated unit at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Mass., the maximum security prison where he is serving a life sentence, WHDH reports. Segregated units house inmates who need protective custody or are a “concern” to the general population. The TV station also reported it isn't clear how long Hernandez will remain in the segregated unit. Read More. |
