| 2 inmates, one from Chicago, escape from southern Illinois prison |

Officials are searching for a Chicago man who along with another inmate escaped Sunday from an Illinois state prison facility in southern Illinois. The inmate from Chicago, Kevin Rivera, 20, of the 1900 block of North Kedvale Avenue, escaped the Dixon Springs Impact Incarceration Program, according to Illinois Department of Corrections officials. Along with Rivera, Jerrette D. Reed, 25, who was sentenced in Randolph County, also escaped, according to officials. The two men were reported missing from the facility at 5:50 p.m., officials said.
