CALDWELL — A Canyon County Detention Center inmate escaped from the jail on Saturday after scaling a large fence, according to the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office. Jesus Cuevas, 26, of Wilder escaped custody from the jail where he was serving time for multiple counts of grand theft and a driving violation. According to the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Cuevas was participating in outdoor recreation time when he climbed the barbed wired top security fence and left on foot. A short time later, deputies realized Cuevas was missing. Cuevas had been housed in a tent dorm structure as a general population, minimum security inmate. Read More. |
