| Tennessee prison chief: I'm not resigning |

In the midst of changing how correctional officers are paid and scheduled, moving to a new prison food provider and overhauling how violent prison incidents are defined, the head of the Tennessee prison system believes he is taking the nearly $1 billion department in the right direction. "I’ll say this, I have no intention of resigning. I think our agency is in good shape," Derrick Schofield told the Tennessee State Employee Association during an extensive interview in November. "We continue to operate sound facilities. We have documentation to prove it.
