| Alcorn County officials hope for return of state inmates |

CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) -- Alcorn County Correctional Facility Warden Allen Lyles is on a mission. "This building is sitting here idle. No money is coming in, so our goal and the Sheriff-Elect Ben Caldwell's goal, was to work together to make the best that it can be," said Lyles. The building is idle because the Mississippi Department of Corrections removed approximately 240 inmates back in October. A joint investigation by the State Auditor's Office and MDOC, found numerous violations of MDOC policies. Misappropriation of funds was also among the accusations.
