SIOUX FALLS - Inmates behind bars may have a lot of time on their hands. For many, that time isn't wasted. It's spent learning. A South Dakota Department of Corrections educational program helps those without a high school diploma get their GED. Many inmates at the state penitentiary are paying their debt back to society, some are spending time walking the halls towards a better future. Any inmate who didn't graduate from high school, may find themselves back in the classroom if they want to be eligible for parole. Read More. |
