| Christmas comes early thanks to Federal Bureau of Prisons donations |

FLORENCE — Some families in the Florence-Penrose School District cannot afford to buy their children coats this year. For the last two decades, the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Florence has donated winter clothing and other items to children in need. "The Federal Penitentiary has worked in conjunction with the school to basically help our students' needs be met," Fremont Elementary School Counselor Sherry Elbourn said. "They offer their gifts to any and all students in our school, including their family members that are newborn all the way to 18. It extends outside of our school."
