110 Inmates at Cass County jail sickened overnight in apparent outbreak

Cass County Jailers are trying to figure out what caused an overnight outbreak that left 110 inmates complaining of stomach problems and diarrhea. The outbreak started in the early morning hours of Tuesday. Cass County Health is also investigating. All of the inmates that reported symptoms are being treated.

CASS COUNTY, N.D. (December 15th, 2015) – During the overnight hours on December 15th, staff at the Cass County Jail began receiving complaints from several inmates complaining of mild illness with symptoms such as upset stomach and diarrhea. By 6:00 am, a total of 110 inmates had reported similar symptoms. The total headcount was 282 at the time of the outbreak.
