| Neighbors plan meeting aimed to stop construction of state-owned gun range in Sennett |

A grassroots movement is taking shape against the construction of a state-owned open shooting range less than a mile away from residential areas in Sennett. A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sennett Fire Department for town residents and invited government officials to discuss the proposed establishment of a gun range by the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. DOCCS is looking to construct the $4.7 million project at the Auburn Correctional Training Center, a state-owned property. The facility, at 3579 Franklin Street Road, is down the road from a residential neighborhood known as Parcell Woods.
