| State officials need to get control of juvenile prison |

If you're not outraged by the reports on an investigation into a Northwoods juvenile prison, you haven't been paying attention. Journal Sentinel reporting suggests a facility in chaos where staff members and inmates appear to be out of control. State officials need to get control now and need to hold accountable those responsible for this mess. Full legislative hearings on the investigation also are warranted. Records from the Lincoln County Sheriff's office go back to November 2014 and list allegations of sexual abuse of juveniles, excessive use of force by staff, and youth attacks on staff and other juveniles. The allegations led to a broad probe by dozens of state investigators that now includes the FBI. Interviews and records from the office of Lincoln County Sheriff Jeff Jaeger provide new glimpses into conditions at the Lincoln Hills School for Boys and the Copper Lake School for Girls, about 30 miles north of Wausau, the Journal Sentinel reported Thursday.
