| Iowa inmate convicted of murder dies in prison hospice care |

CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa Department of Corrections says 65-year-old Dennis Duane Richards died Friday at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville. A prison spokesman says Richards died of natural causes related to throat cancer. Richards, of Burlington, was serving a 60-year sentence for second-degree murder and second-degree arson in the death of his ex-wife. Authorities say Richards strangled 46-year-old Cyd Richards before setting fire to her home in 2009. Read More. |
