Dental records have confirmed that a partially decomposed body found in a creek near a Terre Haute factory is that of a former state prison inmate missing since December. Police say records from the Indiana Department of Correction confirmed the body was that of 48-year-old Cassie Harris of Terre Haute. Harris was convicted by Vigo County courts in 1999 of drug possession and in 2002 for robbery. Her body was found Wednesday. An autopsy showed she died about two months ago, but Vigo County Coroner Roland Kohr says the cause of death is unclear. Investigators say Harris' death might be connected with the death of Tanette Dickison, whose body was discovered last November in a Clay County pond. Police say the women knew each other. |
