| Sheriff's Office reports arrest of conservation camp escapee |

The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office reported today that California State Prison escapee Daniel R. Fidler was arrested at about 9:10 a.m. on SR 96 west of SR 263 (mile post marker 100.69). He was later booked at the Siskiyou County Jail in Yreka for felony escape and auto theft charges. He was to be transferred to the custody of CDCR investigators for transfer to a state prison facility in the near future, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. Earlier in the morning the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call from a citizen reporting a man matching the escapee’s description was a passenger in a pick-up traveling from the Horse Creek area to Redding, according to the release.
