| Former NY corrections official guilty in harassment case |

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — State authorities say a former official in New York's corrections department has pleaded guilty to coercion for sexually harassing a subordinate. Authorities say James Ferro, former director of operations with the department's Special Investigations Unit, was facing trial in Albany City Court Tuesday on misdemeanor charges including forcible touching, official misconduct, coercion and harassment. According to New York's inspector general, Ferro was conditionally discharged and sentenced to 120 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine. Read More. |
