| Central Valley prison's medical care gets passing grade |

Inspectors are giving a passing grade to medical services at a Central Valley state prison. v California's inspector general reported Tuesday that California Correctional Institution is providing adequate care. It says in a report that inmates generally receive appropriate and timely treatment, although emergency services are inadequate. The prison houses more than 3,600 medium- and maximum-security inmates near Tehachapi, about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. It's the sixth prison to receive an adequate grade since the inspections started last year. Read More. |
