| 390 death row sentences may be appealed |

LEESBURG -- The Supreme Court’s decision to void Florida’s death penalty could trigger new sentencing appeals for Florida’s 390 death row inmates, including 25 from cases stemming from the 5th Judicial Circuit comprised of Lake and Sumter as well as Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. Lake has 10 cases and Sumter has one. “The ruling could have a broad impact,” said Robert Dunham, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, in a telephone interview with The Daily Commercial on Tuesday.
