Wyoming Department of Corrections is again facing overcrowding. Its Rawlins facility is facing closures due to settling. The Torrington prison was almost full the day the out-of-state inmates returned. Every year $22 million of your hard-earned money is sent out of state to house prisoners. It will take years for this problem to be resolved. In the interim, figure 200 people sent to each of the states at an average of $100 per day, per person; that is $21.9 million a year down the drain. Read More. |
